With new material being thin on the ground over the past decade, it would be fair to say Bananarama had become something an iconic afterthought of a time when pop music was once ace. No wonder there were mixed feelings with the announcement of a new album. Can the girls really deliver an album's worth with such gems as they did in their history, without reheating these past glories? Well...you bet they can.
DRAMA is a 13 track modern masterpiece with pop anthems about good times, love crimes and bad boys. Sexual innuendos are aplenty throughout the new single LOVE ON THE FLOOR and the dreamy electro-ballad 'Waterfall'. A rarely see sensitivity shines through 'Middle Of Nowhere'. Elsewhere it's partytime, with future dance classics like 'Don't Step On My Groove'. When it comes to unashamed feel good pop, Bananarama are still a force to be reckoned with.
DRAMA is in-stores since November 14th, 2005.
