With the release of his 10th compilation, CALMING PARK 4, Zurich-based music designer, DJ and journalist Olivier Rohrbach marks his most romantic production to-date.
Olivier has made a selection of 18 tunes with care, knowledge and taste, that make CALMING PARK 4 a jewel that most certainly will appeal to an eclectic audience. The album varies from jazz (Helen Merrill, Lizz Wright) to electro (Beady Belle, Shazz), from organic lounge (Brazilian Girls, Feist) to atmospheric country pop (Minnie Driver, Kelly de Martino), from romantic bossa nova (Caetano Veloso) to erotic chillout (Tears for Fears remixed, Monaural Voice).
In the Calming Park tradition, Olivier has collaborated with a known photographer in order to illustrate his music with matching images. The photo’s you find on the cover and in the booklet are astonishing views of Las Vegas by the hand of Italian photographer Roberto Ceccarelli. Now if you think Las Vegas is a strange subject for a CD so romantic and soothing as Calming Park 4, you couldn’t be more wrong. The photo’s, like the CD, are stunning, and a true addition to the relaxing music.
