With the first part of our John Andresen interview, and his sexy calendar boys Roman and Zdenek fresh in mind, we move on today with the second and last part of the conversation we had with this talented photographer from Oslo, Norway. We know John from his extra ordinary work with Angel Corella and the Men of the Amercian Ballet, but that is not all John did. His portfolio also includes magical work he did with the boys from the Swedish Ballet, several publications in international magazines and a series of portraits of mostly northern European men, each session done in that pure, clean and sensual way that is so characterizing for John's photography. We continue the conversation with a questions concerning the famous photo John made of the men of the Swedish Royal ballet:
The image of the dancers in the air with one on a motorbike is an extremely striking image. How did you construct that shot?
John: I line them up and tell each of them what to do in the air, and then I count to three and they jump. And I try to hit the shutter at the right time. Simple as that! A lot of people think the photo is fake but they actually all jump at the same time.
Is it difficult to build a career as photographer in Norway?
John: Yes. I wish sometime my studio is located in Los Angeles or Rio De Janeiro. It's not easy to find great bodies far up in the cold north where I live. By the way: I'm in Milan this June, so if you're a male model and like to be photographed by me let me hear from you.
Can you tell us about your next upcoming project?
John: I plan on doing something with Norwegian athletes for a new calendar. Next years calendar with the Men of American Ballet Theater is already printed! It was shot in New York this January.
Just imagine Beautiful is a genie…what would be your three wishes after rubbing our little lamp ?
John: That must be:
1. Money,
2. A new large beautiful studio,
3. To work with the British model James Rousseau. He is just beautiful..!!
We want to give you the opportunity to say something nice, or naughty, to our readers, so go ahead…
John: Well... don't sit to long in front of your screen to search for beautiful men. Work your body, don't smoke, don't drink and you'll look young and fit – ready for the summer! ;)
We would like to thank John Andresen for his cooperation in this interview. Keep an eye on his work, and, like John said, if you are in Milan next month, and you are a model, contact John through his site.
This interview is a Beautiful initiative and
