Barbra Streisand, born on April 24, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY will embark on her first U.S. nationwide tour in more then a decade this fall. The last time she performed on stage was during a 2004 John Kerry fundraiser, and prior to that she put in a ‘farewell’ stand at Madison Square Garden in her hometown New York, a two night performance that earned her $ 14.4 million. The upcoming tour will take place during October and November and will contain a selection of her classics as well as some tracks from her 2005 collaboration with Barry Gibb ‘Guilty Pleasures.’ Multi-platinum quartet Il Divo will perform with Babs as her special guest.
Barbra Streisand is the music industry's #1 best-selling female artist with 50 Gold, 30 Platinum and 13 Multi-Platinum albums to her credit. She is second in the all-time charts, ahead of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, exceeded only by Elvis. She continues to be the highest-selling female recording artist ever. Streisand remains the only artist to receive Oscar, Tony, Emmy, Grammy, Golden Globe, Cable Ace, and Peabody Awards, and the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award.
Tickets for the tour will be sold for $100, $200 and $350, with special offers at $750 and $1,500. Streisand’s concerts are always lavish affairs and never fail to sell out. They also draw the cream of the entertainment industry. Some proceeds from the fall tour will go towards Babs' favorite environment, education and women's health charities.

Streisand may be the highest selling female artist in the U.S., but the highest selling female artist in the world is Madonna (she comes in at #4 with Michael Jackson at 1 and the Beatles at 2).
