AYMERIC GIRAUDEL IS A VISIONARY. HIS WORK ARE CAPTURES OF HIS DREAMS AND VISIONS OF THE FUTURE. FULL OF SYMBOLISM AND SURREAL SITUATIONS, EACH PIECE THAT FINDS IT ORIGIN IN AYMERIC’S CREATIVE BRAIN TELLS US A STORY. AYMERIC IS ALSO A VERY PRIVATE PERSON, WHO PREFERS TO EXPRESS HIMSELF THROUGH HIS ART RATHER THAN WORDS. AND IT IS THROUGH HIS ART THAT THE WORLD STARTS TO KNOW THIS DIGITAL WIZARD.
Aymeric Giraudel has has several successful exhibitions in Paris and Bordeaux, Copenhagen and soon in London. His work has been published in several magazines and he is one of these talented artist that was so generous to participate to our Beautiful Calendar 2007 project, that allows you to own your own piece of work from this gifted artist. Last Tuesday we introduced you to the man Aymeric Giraudel, and today we continue our conversation we had with him.
Ok, tell us your secrets. How do you do it?
Aymeric: There are no secrets. I simply choose models that are capable of levitation – lol. But seriously, I do not want to go into technical details. It would break the magic of my work which I would like to keep as it is. I can tell you one thing though. It is not as easy as one might think. Each individual shot takes about three weeks to complete, sometimes even longer to plan. Execution has to be perfect there is no room chance. Once I have my vision, I know exactly what I want.
Any other secrets you would like to share?
Aymeric: It would have been a pleasure but currently I have nothing under hand. Nothing crunchy for today. Maybe later…
How personal is your work?
Aymeric: My artistic work is very linked to my life and thus very personal. It captures things of my past, visions of my future. It is my vision on the world, sometimes interpretation of intolerance and forgetfulness, but always a vision of hope. I like to bring hope in peoples lives. It is hope that drives me.
Besides photography, what else do you enjoy in life?
Aymeric: Usual things like music, movies, a good restaurant and better wines, clubbing and sex. I take pleasure in all of that. I am a true hedonist. Besides that, another thing that gives me pleasure is poetry. You can fin it everywhere. In some moments of your life. In the melody of music. In the clouds that filter the light of the sun. If you are sensitive to these things simple and natural things, it is like touching the world with a magic wand.
Just imagine Beautiful is a genie. What would be your three wished after rubbing our little lamp?
Aymeric: Since I was small I have wished for world peace. I now hope that one day I will be able to stop wishing. My second wish would be 72 hour days. It will allow me more time to spend more time on my work. Time passes to fast and I have so many things to do and to discover. My third wish would be a gift to a friend, someone special, to do with it as he or she sees best fit, and take full profit from it.
Let’s go more intellectual. Please react to the following in just a few words:
The quality you prefer in a man: Humility.
The quality you prefer in a woman: Goodness.
Your biggest flaw: Too sensitive (no further comment-lol).
Your biggest quality: I think to be a perfectionist. I can pass hours on a detail without being fully satisfied at the end. I always feel I can do better. It is a bit irritating but also a positive quality.
What you appreciate most in your friends: their loyalty and hearing them laugh.
And in your enemies: their discretion about my life.
Favorite hobby: Read a good detective novels the evening in my bed, the head under the sheet... this is the absolute ecstasy.
What is your dream of happiness: Once more I have to say World Peace. But besides that, I hope to grow really old and look back on my life with a smile. To be able to say, I had a beautiful life without any regrets on my choices. To be able to leave this life quietly.
What would be your greatest calamity: That stupidity and intolerance would spread even more over the world.
And finally, other then yourself, who, or what, would you like to be: Mmmm, that would be a mix.
Gandhi for his knowledge and his serenity, Jamiroquai for his energy and his feeling, and Madonna for her determination and her professionalism. -B-

You're a wonderful artist. Very talented. Wouldn't mind posting some of these pictures on the walls in my home. Wouldn't mind meeting some of the models either, but that's a story for another day.
