Beautiful Thursday | Jack has Stars

SMALL THINGS OFTEN LEAD TO BIG HAPPENINGS AND ADVENTURES. IN THE CASE OF JACK IT WAS HIS PHOTO THAT APPEARED SOMEWHERE ON AN INTERNET SITE. WHEN PHOTOGRAPHER FRANK LOUIS COINCIDENTALLY SPOTTED THAT PICTURE, HE WAS LOST. HE JUST KNEW HE HAD TO GET THIS MAN IN FRONT OF HIS LENS.

After seeing his picture on the net, Frank Louis immediately sent Jack an email with an invitation for a shooting. Jack responded right away, saying he would be happy to work with Frank but that he was busy for the next few months. After three months Frank contacted Jack again, who indicated he was grateful Frank didn’t forget him, but also that he needed more time. Frank started to have doubts and wasn’t sure if Jack really wanted to do the shoot. But that one picture haunted him and he decided to give it one last try. And this time it all worked out.

Jack Mackenroth, originally from Seattle but living in New York since 17 years, is a remarkable man. He has a history of modeling – appeared in many magazines like Paper, DNR, Men's Fitness, Men's Journal, Genre and Blue – and works now as a fashion designer, and is currently working on his own line of men’s dress shirts and pants, hoping to expand into all aspects of men’s sportswear. Sport is not alien to Jack. He is a competitive swimmer (hence his well defined body), has 3 all-american titles and set a national record in the summer of 2006 in the breaststroke leg of the 40x50 meter medley relay. Used to the media, Jack has found a perfect way to combine his camera experience with his design talent. He currently can be seen in the 4th season of Project Runway, the American reality series that focuses on fashion design. And if that is not enough, he also just finished filming a cameo for the upcoming Sex And The City movie. One wonders, when he tattooed the stars on his arms, did he already have stars in his eyes?

One little photo lead to a whole new adventure: a shooting with Frank Louis. About his work with Frank, Jack said: "Shooting with Frank was an amazing experience.
