THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT A MAN LOOKING OUT OF A WINDOW, EITHER NAKED OR IN A NICE PAIR OF BOXERS, NOURISHING HIMSELF IN A MAGICAL SUNBEAM, OR CATCHING THE BROKEN RAYS OF LIGHT THROUGH RAINDROPS ON THE GLASS. IT JUST MAKES YOU WONDER WHAT THEY ARE THINKING OR DOING BY THE WINDOW, OR WHO IS AT THE OTHER SIDE.
Together with his partner for 18 years and is two dogs Zakary and Sidney, Frank Louis lives in a loft space in the West Village, New York City. It is a corner apartment with both south and east facing views with 13 giant windows in the living room. It is here where he takes the natural light and makes it his to play with. This is the place where Frank Louis creates his beautiful portraits of his men, sometimes innocent and dreamy, sometimes expressive and sexual, but always sensual and with a level of sensitivity and intimacy that just can not be reached by using strobe lights. 14 Foot of shear white curtains only enforce that softness that is so evident in Frank Louis’ photographic work.
Frank Louis lives his life as full as he can. He has many passions, wants to create more, learn more and give more. He practices yoga, loves to travel – goes to Italy one or two times by year - and is learning Italian. He loves Madonna and Blondie, and often plays their music while working. Many bits and pieces of Frank’s passions can be found back in his biggest passion of all: photography. He has no other competitor than himself, but sometimes that is the toughest competition. About working with the immense windows in his apartment, Frank says: "At times, my windows seem to shelter me, at times they seem to imprison me. I never take them for granted. On sunny days, I love the feel of the sun on my skin, on rainy days, I love the patterns the rain makes on the glass."
Frank’s family and friends are very supportive of his photography, and apparently the same can be said of his models and the office people in the West Village. When asked about the view of his apartment, Frank confesses: "Directly across the street from me is an office building and I have drawn a crowd more than a few times to watch the photo shoots, never a complaint! Some of the model's even like the fact that there is an audience." –B-

yes, i agree with you..there is really something about a man looking by the window. i know that i am like this, i tend to be sentimental when it comes to films, one of the reason why it makes me sad whenever i recall the movie brokeback, is because heath, looks through the window...i just think its sad.

Louis' beautiful work demonstrates how there really is nothing that creates better artistry than natural light and shadow. Just gorgeous! Of course, having beautiful male models doesn't hurt either! :D

I first see his work from most recent post, stranger in paradise and follow the link here. These pics like some others say is more sentimental and the one in 'stranger in paradise is more sensual'. Both include his classical and noble style which is what attract me to his pics at the first place. Hope to see more of his work
