Beautiful Cover Story | Hey Joé

NO THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR EYES. THERE REALLY ONLY IS ONE OF HIM. JOE BOFUNDA. LOOKING AT THESE FANTASTIC PHOTOGRAPHS BY THOMAS SYNNAMON, IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT HE SERIOUSLY DIDN’T BELIEVE HE HAD WHAT IT TAKES TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL MALE ART MODEL. FORTUNATELY HE CHANGED OPINION. IF NOT, WE WOULD HAVE MISSED ALL THIS.

Joé Bofunda was born in Paris 26 years ago. At early age he realized dancing was the thing for him, and he really went for it. Eventually, about 9 years ago, at the age of 17, he decided to supplement that with modeling, being discovered by American-photographer-living-in-Paris Ernest Collins, not exactly unknown for the ones who have followed BeautifulMag from the beginning. Joé obviously had the right physics for a modeling career, although he really wasn’t that confident in posing in little more then briefs, or even less. Fortunately he overcame his fears and developed himself into a talented male art model, still keeping dance and several other sports activities (swimming, yoga, boxing) in high regard.

Even though the whole modeling started as a hobby, Joé decided to take a more serious approach, moving to London and signing with a management agency by doing so. By now he has built himself an impressive portfolio, having worked with several skilled international photographers, Thomas Synnamon being one of them. And if we scroll through his list of friends on his ModelMayhem profile, it looks like many more are to follow.

Thomas Synnamon hardly needs an introduction here on BeautifulMag. We love his work and have featured many of his series on our pages in the recent past. And many new ones will follow in the near future. Thomas lives and works in new York City and that might come in handy since Joé turned his eyes towards this city as his next stop. Personally we are very excited to have this beautiful man decorating the digital pages of BeautifulMag, and the fact Thomas used a mirror concept makes it twice as nice. So, if you want to see more of Joé Bofunda by the hand – and camera – of Thomas Synnamon, raise your hand please. –B-
