STRONG COLORS, STRANGE, ALMOST SCHIZOPHRENIC SCENES OF BIZARRE ACCESSORIES, SEXY MAN AND URBAN BACKDROPS. THESE ARE THE INGREDIENTS OF THE OUTSTANDING WORKS OF GERMAN PHOTOGRAPHER KARIM KONRAD, WHO AS FEW OTHERS HAS DEVELOPED A STYLE THAT LIFTS MALE PHOTOGRAPHY TO A COMPLETE NEW LEVEL OF ART EXPRESSION.
Very few photographers have the ability to create work in such a strong signature style as Karim Konrad. Original from Berlin, this most original artist moved to Sydney two years ago, where he has been working on a worthy sequel to his Berlin Gay Mates series. Looking at the refreshing portraits here today, it seems needles to say that he more than succeeded in doing so.
Berlin Gay Mates showcased the playful sensuality of Berlin men and gave Karim Konrad international recognition as a talented photographer. Embarking on the next stage of his artistic journey, Karim’s most recent project is a celebration of the unique sexuality of the Aussie man set among the stunning beauty of Sydney. Without loosing his typical Konrad-style, Karim has been able to create a refreshing new series of portraits that are recognizable but most certainly no clone images of his earlier work in just another city. "Sydney has beautiful beaches, fantastic weather, hot men and a vibrant party scene," Karim explains. "I want the world to experience this paradise through my work."
Karim Konrad’s world travels have left him with the uncanny ability to capture the contrasting energy of our unique environs. Over the past years he has developed quite a fan base in Australia – and the rest of the world - with his portraits fast becoming collectible and private commissions now very popular. –B-

Whereas I can't say I like the photos I will give him credit for a distinctive style.
