WE HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH LEVI POULTER FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW, BUT NEVER GOT TO SIT DOWN AND HAVE A SERIOUS CONVERSATION WITH HIM. OR AT LEAST TRY TO, BECAUSE LEVI IS THE KIND OF GUY WHO TAKES THINGS WITH A SMILE AND A GOOD DOSE OF HUMOR. SO WHEN WE FINALLY DID, THE RESULT OF OUR CONVERSATION TURNED OUT TO BE QUITE… WELL… FUNNY? LET’S JUST SAY, WE TRIED TO CATCH LEVI IN PRIVATE, BUT HE SEEMS A HARD GUY TO GET.
Levi Poulter appeared for the first time on Beautiful in the Room 103 series [Room 103 Part 1, Room 103 Part 2, Room 103 part 3], shot by Jason Rowan in the luxury gay resort Island House Key West in Florida. Levi, who lives in Miami, started his glorious career at the age of 24. Glorious because he hit of right away, with a runway show in London as one of his first assignment, and a contract for Abercrombie & Fitch. Over the years Levi has graced the covers and spreads of many magazines, like Target, L’Uomo Vogue and DNA, and worked with a large amount of international renowned photographers. He has his own website, Miamilevi, where he shows more of himself – and not only professional photos – for a small membership. Today we offer you the chance to get to know Levi more personal, and in the next few weeks we will show you more of Levi in picture.
Levi, can you please introduce yourself to our readers?
Levi: Sure! I will need them all to send their addresses and let me know when the best time to stop by is. Ok…so I’m not funny, but I’m really not sure what to say to introduce myself.
You were born and raised in a small town in the Rocky Mountains. How was it to spend your childhood there?
Levi: It was great actually. I probably didn’t appreciate it as much as I should have back then, but in retrospect I was really fortunate to be raised in such a beautiful natural place. The only negative I can remember as a child is trying to ride a bike. You were either going straight up a hill or straight down… no in between.
Let’s make a jump. How did you end up working in the modeling industry?
Levi: I actually tried a couple times to get in and was turned down. I even went to London to try modeling and when I returned to Miami gave up on it and took a retail job at a local shop. It was there at the shop that I was introduced to Bruce Weber who then gave me advice as to what agencies to go with etc.
Is modeling something you always wanted to do?
Levi: Not always, but yea… lol. I think I was 17 when I first decided I wanted to be a model. I even tried in Utah but there was really no market for it, just modeling schools trying to make money on the models.
Ever considered a career in acting or other showbiz activities?
Levi: If laying on the sofa and criticizing the lead role of a movie counts….then YES! I should be a star!
What about adult entertainment? We are sure you have received offers for that as well, no?
Levi: I have received offers and have considered them also. Who knows, maybe one day soon. What do you think? Should I pursue it?
Besides your work Levi, what other passions do you have? What keeps you busy?
Levi: I love traveling. I travel as often as I can. New places and cultures are exciting to me. I love architecture too so that kind of goes in hand with traveling. I’m having some back issues right now... sucks getting old, but I usually love the gym and training people. Not sure why, but it is fun for me to see some ones body change and take part in that. And my dog also keeps me busy ☺
What does the perfect man looks like according to Levi Poulter?
Levi: Let me starT by saying it all depends on the attitude for me, so I may see the guy I am about to describe and hate him if I don’t like his personality and attitude. That said, here goes: I like a guy that is not like me. A little shorter than me with darker features and dark hair. Thick and built. Not necessarily muscley. I like muscles but I prefer that he have thick thighs and chest… and maybe even a layer of fat over his abs. I want him to weigh more than me also. I really want to feel it when he lays on top of me or grabs me. Most of all proportionate. Bottom half matches the top. Do you want more details? Should we remove the clothes?
Is this a professional model view, or a personal opinion?
Levi: Ooooh definitely my opinion… lol
Let’s get a bit more personal Levi:
What music do you listen to?
Levi: I like lots of music – all types. Here are a few of the names you will see on my iPod: Alex Ubago, Gwen Stefani, Coldplay, Gorillaz, Basshunter, Oakenfold, Buda bar, Mana, Kelly Osbourne, Daddy Yankee, Nelly, Annie Lennox etc…
What are you wearing now?
Levi: Well I have been in a plane all day and still haven’t changed so I am wearing a stinky polo shirt and jeans with Puma sneakers.
What do you wear in bed?
Levi: Nothing.
Do you like to cuddle?
Levi: Sometimes. Depends when. I like to when its cold, but otherwise I get to hot… lol.
Any pets?
Levi: One dog, three cats, a hen and two goats. Kidding, but for real the dog and cats.
Do you have a boyfriend?
Levi: Yeah… I can’t seem to shake him.
What is your favorite food?
Levi: Love all food. Love to eat too, but pasta is a comfort food for me.
What is your favorite sexual position?
Levi: I’m glad you asked. I like to be suspended from a series of…. oh…. you probably mean top or bottom ☺ I am happy doing any of it as long as I’m on bottom, lol.
Can you name us three photographers you would love to work with, and why?
Levi: Even though he has passed I have always admired Helmut Newton’s work. I remember as a kid that my dad had some of his books and I loved looking through them. He seemed to capture the emotion for me… not the physical. I am also drawn to Annie Leibowitz and I think it is because of the raw nature or the images. On the other end of the spectrum I think David Lachapelle is really amazing and daring. He shoots what he envisions which is really intriguing to me.
Levi, what are you working on right now? What is going on in your busy life?
Levi: Personally I am working on some rental properties I have and my own place as well. That honestly occupies a lot of my time. I am always working on my site also. I also have some other things on the burner, but you will find out soon enough…☺
Can you give some advise to those who like to pursue a career in fashion modeling?
Levi: My advice isn’t going to be typical, but it is what I wish someone would have told me. Play with your strong points. Use what you have. What I am trying to say is to be realistic. For example if you goal is to walk the runway in Milan and you happen to be 5’5” and weigh 190 it probably will never happen. Sure you can lose weight, but you aren’t going to magically grow those extra inches. So give your self a logical realistic goal. Perhaps you can be the fashion designer for the runway in Milan or maybe you are amazing with computers and you can run an automated lightshow for fashion shows etc. Do you see what I mean? I guess my point is to realize what area you truly have potential in and to pursue that avenue. –B-
