YOU FIND THEM EVERYWHERE, IN EVERY COUNTRY AND EVERY BIG CITY. BAD BOYS, NASTY GUYS, SCUM FROM THE STREET. BUT FOR US, FRANCE IS THE PLACE WHERE YOU FIND THE REAL ENFANTS TERRIBLES. GUYS THAT HAVE THAT ‘RACAILLE’ LOOK, NASTY, MEAN, AGGRESSIVE, DARING AND ROUGH. AND – LET’S FACE IT – OH SO SEXY AND HOT…
33-Year old self-taught photographer Jérôme Haffner could not have picked a better subject for his upcoming exhibition. Known for his fine selection of the roughest looking guys, hand picked from the streets of Lyon and surroundings, Jérôme has created his series Kill The Light. Set against a backdrop of stark contrast in black and white, these young men go all the way, showing themselves in their darkest and most aggressive beauty while looking in the camera as if to dare you to step into the scene and have a go with them. And you have to admit, it is a tempting invitation.
Meet Romain, Loic and Florian. Three of Jérôme flagship guys and the true embodiment of his Kill The Light exhibition. A gallery of photos that brings the direct, inquiring, inflammatory expressions from these bad boys to life. According to Jérôme, his show is a duel between velvet soft and prudish darkness and the hard indecent light. A duel that is fought on the naturally shaped bodies of these handsome young men, revealing their most intimate beauty. –B-
The exhibition Kill The Light by Jérôme Haffner opened its doors on February 16 and can be visited until March 30, 2009, in the Opera Bar in Lyon, France.
