WHEN CREATIVE FLUIDS FLOW THROUGH YOUR VEINS, IT IS SOMETIMES HARD TO EXPRESS THEM IN ONE WAY ONLY. SOME PEOPLE HAVE SO MUCH CREATIVITY IN THEIR DNA, THEY SIMPLY NEED TO VENTILATE IN DIFFERENT AREAS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT MIGHT MAKE YOU LOOK AS SOMEONE WHO DESPERATELY SEEKS THE ATTENTION AND PUBLICITY, BUT MORE OFTEN IT I JUST AN UNSTOPPABLE DRIVE AND IT HAPPENS TO THE MOSE MODEST AND HUMBLE PERSONS. TREVOR WAYNE IS SUCH A PERSON.

Trevor Wayne is a man of many talents. His remarkable looks make him stand out from the crowd, but there is much more to Trevor than just a handsome guy with many tattoo’s. Trevor is an unlimited source of creativity and energy. Model and actor. Artist and a piece of art himself. Trevor Wayne is a modern day male pinup, an alternative pop icon, who will be releasing a self-published controversial photo mini-magazine - Trevor Wayne Pin-Up Show - combining the most edgy photographs taken of him by a select group of renowned international photographers. So, curious to find out who Trevor really is, and what drives him, we looked him up and had a chat with him.

Trevor, tell us, how did a nice innocent boy from the Midwest end up living in L.A.?
Trevor: Its been a long crazy trip. I moved around the Midwest a lot. Starting in Chicago, moving to a blueberry farm in Michigan, then Indiana. Finally when I was 18 I just couldn't handle Indiana anymore. I decided to go to art school in Chicago. Once I was done with that I decided to hop a bus to move to NYC..knowing maybe 3 people, barely, and only having 300 bucks. I did it, though. I found a few crappy jobs and a closet size place in Brooklyn. The bad news was that I moved there at the wrong time. After getting jobs and getting settled, which took months, the Trade Center fell. So I lost my jobs because they were in lower Manhattan and had to be shut down for weeks. I hung around broke for a few months after, hoping to find work, but it wasn't happening. I moved back to Chicago to bar tend and save up money. I wanted to move back out of Chicago, and this time chose LA over going back to NYC, only since it was a new experience. I love LA! I'm so glad I came here and didn't go back to NYC. Ive been here 6 years now, and can’t imagine living anywhere else.

Tattoo’s Trevor. We hardly have to ask if you like them. What drove you to get so many of them? Do they have a special meaning for you?
Trevor: I don't think there is enough time to talk about my tattoos, hah! They all mean something. Even the ones that are just designs still stand for a point I was at. Or they were done by a friend, or with a friend. I'm just a very visual person. It doesn't have anything to do with liking pain, or mean anything about who I am sexually. Visually I just like a lot going on. I'm learning to like negative space though..haha. Before I couldn't handle any blank space. I thought it was a waste of where there could be artwork. I’ve learned to minimize my apartment even, for the sake of my friends, so they wouldn't get headaches when they came over!

You can be seen in one of Pink’s music video’s as a tattoo artist. Have you ever played with the idea of pursuing that career path?
Trevor: Yes!! Absolutely!! I did have tattoo machines and I tattooed all of my friends. I tattooed my own leg and foot. I actually became OK. Had I pursued it more I'm sure I would be doing great. It really just wasn't for me though. It’s one of those careers where I really feel I’d have to give a hundred percent to make it work. I would have to give up the other things I'm doing to focus on it. I wasn't willing to do that. With acting and modeling, they kind of go together, and work side by side. Artwork I can do in my downtime. So those three things work very well for me as a package. Tattooing takes A LOT of time and practice.

We have seen you as a model and an actor. What can you tell us about your career so far?
Trevor: Basically, I think of myself as an artist. Everything else is an extension of that. I guess by artist I mean I'm an idea guy. I have a lot of ideas for all types of outlets of creativity. I think I’ve been really lucky so far. I’ve done things I never dreamed possible growing up. Everything is moving at a steady pace, and I'm happy with with the things Ive been able to do. Money isn't so much a goal for me, being famous and in tabloids isn't a goal for me. I do however want to be known in the industry so that I can meet incredible artists, like Clive Barker, and create with them.

Acting-wise, I haven't been too on top of it lately. I’ve been more focused on the other things. It’s still great though. I'm lucky to have small parts in Bruce LaBruces new film "LA Zombie", and director John Roeckers "Svengali" web series starring Tim Armstrong (of the band Rancid). This ultimately is the kind of acting I wanted to do. It’s not about big budget filming and red carpet events. I'm working with great visionaries.

Modeling-wise I love creating a living painting. I think of photography as a amazing artistic outlet. I don't entirely like doing nude modeling, though. I have done it when I liked the project and trusted the photographer, and may continue to every once in a while. I liked what I have done, but couldn't bring myself to put it on my site. I think any kind of nudity on my site distracts from all the other things going on, and actually isn't even necessary. I figured doing my "Pin-Up Show" mini-mag was the perfect way to show that side of my work, while still keeping it a separate project.

Let’s talk about the Trevor Wayne Pin-Up Show. Will it be a one time edition or can we expect to see more issues of the magazine in the near future?
Trevor: As of right now its a one time thing. I do plan to sell it for as long as I feel, maybe even for 20 years..haha (except the Clive Barker variant- only available a limited time). If a second issue comes about, it will be a long time coming. I don't want to just shoot nudes with anyone. The photographers in my mag have all become friends and allowed me the rights to use their pics within the mag. That's something that doesn't come along easy either. I own "Pin-Up Show" and its the first time Ive ever owned the rights to my own image. Crazy huh?

You are a well-sought after model for a large variety of renowned photographers. What is the secret of your success?
Trevor: I often ask myself that. First of all, success to me isn't having a mansion or having five cars. Success is sleeping soundly at the end of the day knowing you made the right choices for who you are. In Hollywood's eyes I'm sure I’ve made a lot of bad decisions, but I stand by them, and the world didn't end. I worked hard. I did every shoot for years I could get into. I did free shoots for ad campaigns, I called off my day job even, to do free shoots and starved. I contacted every photographer I wanted to work with to tell them I'd be happy to shoot for free. I really worked for what I have and I feel lucky to have it. I still have to work, I don't think there will ever be a time where I can lay back and rest on my laurels. I'm okay with that. The journey is it's own reward.

What about acting Trevor? In pursuing this career, how do you see yourself?
Trevor: I really don't know. I enjoy doing it, and think I always will. It’s such a strange thing. I just never know whats going to happen next, and that is exciting.

Both artist and a piece of art yourself, you almost seem to be a public property. Tell us, who is the real Trevor Wayne. What kind of person are you really?
Trevor: I am a nerd. I like to have fun. I really am unaware of being so heavily tattooed until someone reminds me. I like to say stupid things to get a laugh. I’d rather stay in with friends and play Xbox than go to a bar. I love the outdoors. I don't like beer, but I love vodka and whiskey. I’ve never done drugs. I'm happy with my life. I have a very close family.

I've been following Trevor's website for a few years now. He is an amazing person and artist. I ordered TREVOR WAYNE PIN-UP SHOW and can't wait for it to come in! I in no way mean to trivialize him as an artist by seeing him as a piece of meat BUT Trevor is unbelieveably sexy! Maybe its the tattoos, the swimmers build, the shaved head, or just the sex appeal he just naturally seems to exude. Or maybe it's all of it combined.

Whenever the subject of tattoos is brought up on this site, there are usually strong opinions expressed on both sides of the issue. Some people love them while others don't. I suppose this ultimately comes down to the question, what is considered beautiful, and what is not?

As you may have guessed by now, there is an episode of STAR TREK classic that discusses this topic in some depth. In the unusual and thought-provoking third-season installment entitled "Is There In Truth No Beauty?" written by Jean Lissette Aroeste, there is an alien whose countenance induces insanity when viewed by unshielded eyes. This raises the conundrum: Is the alien too ugly to bear, or too beautiful to bear? Unfortunately, the question remains unresolved at the end of the show.

Perhaps, then, the best that we can conclude is that once again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
