HIS GOAL IS TO BRING EXCELLENT QUALITY TO EVERY IMAGE HE CAPTURES. AND IN ORDER TO DO SO, HE IS WILLING TO GO FAR. HE IS, IN FACT, WILLING TO LIVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE HE REQUIRES FROM HIS SUBJECTS. DOING THAT AND GIVING THAT MUCH PASSION, IS WHAT MAKES THE ARTIST.
Last summer we introduced you to Venezuelan photographer
Carlos Hernandez, and the wonderful portfolio he shot with Hungarian model and trainer
Norbert Peti in the subway of New York. Both Norb and Carlos are living examples of how following your dream can actually change your life. Norb followed his heart and moved to New York. Carlos made a similar step. He went to the United States for 6 months where he studied English and explored the universe of male photography. proud to be a Venezuelan, it is unlikely Carlos will give up his life there any time soon, but he did vowe to return to the US for more shoots.

But let’s take it one step back. While in the USA, Carlos did more than learning the English language. He spent considerable time with his camera and has been able to capture some pretty amazing models.
Levi Poulter being one of them. Levi Poulter still lives his life in Miami. For his modeling career he flies pretty much all over the world, or, if he isn’t traveling, has photographers come to Florida. That, gentlemen, is what identifies a successful model. Shooting Levi was for Carlos the closure of his 6 months stay on American soil, and what a closure it was.
"Levi is a great person, full of intelligence, a huge heart, kind and of course what you all have seen: hotness, sexiness and the most beautiful eyes you have ever seen. When we met in person we just clicked. It's just great when you work with someone who has great skills and just do what he can so he can improve his image."
For
Levi Poulter, the experience of working with
Carlos Hernandez was good as well:
"Carlos is so intense, but great to shoot with. Once he gets in the groove he just keeps shooting. He knows what he wants and gets it. I'm pretty experienced so he would ask me to do some poses or shots and I would be thinking...he has no clue....but once I saw the final pics I realized I was wrong. He has a clue..lol He knows what he is doing and is good at it. It's natural talent. When we did that shoot in the water it was funny...and great. He had to strip down to his briefs so he could wade out in the water and shoot me. I like it when a photographer has to do the same thing he is asking of the model...lol. It made the shoot a lot more exciting for me anyway."
The concept of this series was based on how Carlos saw Levi: like a King. In some you see him sitting on his throne, where among the gray colors you see his perfectly structured body being the center of attention, ruling the earth. His presence is definitely mandatory. Carlos Hernandez will be returning to the Unites States soon, in order to meet and shoot other models. He already decided Miami will once again be on his itinerary.

It is great to see Levi and Carlos being able to work alone together at the beach, not bothered by a grumpy cabana manager who interfered with Levi and Thomas Synnamon last summer. Levi does indeed look like a King Neptune here, sitting on his throne, ruling over his ocean in the background. Just beautiful!
