World AIDS Day with a Beautiful Vision

BEAUTIFUL VISIONS COME IN MANY FORMS. ONE OF THEM IS MOST DEFINITELY THE VICTORY OVER THE HIV VIRUS. IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS VISION REALITY, A LOT OF MONEY IS NEEDED TO SUPPORT RESEARCH AND EDUCATION. IT IS GOOD TO GIVE FOR THIS PURPOSE, AND IT GETS EVEN BETTER WHEN YOU GET SOMETHING IN RETURN, RIGHT AWAY.

Two weeks ago, BeautifulVision, is BeautifulMag's first book release, hit the stores and already it has become obvious, it is a huge success. The 260 page photo book, that houses 37 different photographers who, with their magnificent work, all contributed to the vision of beauty, enjoys great popularity. But it can not be popular enough, considering all royalties are freely donated by BeautifulMag to Sidaction.org, the 15 years old French organization active in the ongoing battle against AIDS/HIV, both scientific and educative, on international level. BeautifulMag is happy to announce a first considerate payment has already been made to this good cause.

SEEING YOUR LOVER BACK AFTER A LONG BREAK IS ALWAYS A MOMENT OF EXPECTATION AND TENSION. IS THE FEELING STILL THERE? WILL YOU RELIVE THOSE MEMORIES YOU SHARED FROM THE PREVIOUS TIME?

From the moment Levi and Ryan saw each other, the old chemistry relived. Last year, when they spent some nice days together with mutual friend Scott at Island House Key West, they had really hit it off well, but it always remains to be seen if the flame is still burning after a long pause.

But those first moment in the privacy of their luxurious room was all they needed to discover the passion was still their. And thus it wasn’t a surprise for photographer Jason Rowan when the two emerged from their seclusion, ready for a fresh dive in the generous Island House pool. –B-

BeautifulMag Week 49-50 | Something Old, Something New

I have to admit that one of the nice things of working on BeautifulMag is the fact we make a lot of nice friends. Our work on this site has given us the opportunity to meet many interesting, talented and – yes – sexy guys. But as it is often the case with friendships, sometimes you lose people a bit out of sight. You can blame it on busy schedules or whatever you want, it seems to be inevitable. But that is OK, because when you touch base again, it is always nice and it is always good. And you discover you have so much to tell to each other.

Friendship is important. It is nice to hang out with your friends, share good times. Which in our particular case isn’t always that easy. Our friends are currently spread all over the world so that doesn’t really give us the opportunity to join them for a spontaneous night in town. But that is OK because a real friend is only a phone call away. Even though in our case it seems easy to keep track with the people we have come to know since many are published artists, I always find it particularly inspiring to get back in contact with old friends and learn about what they have been up to and what their near future plans are. And that is exactly what we have been doing over the past few weeks. Paul Reiffer, Sylvain Norget, Kevin Slack, Joseph Sayers. Old friends with new things. The Humplex

WELCOME TO THE MYTH OF HUMINIA. A IMAGINATIVE ISLAND INHABITED BY THE SEXUAL FANTASIES OF ITS CREATOR HUMBUGED. A DIGITAL UNIVERSE THAT OFFERS TEASING ARTWORKS AND INTERACTIVE GAMES IN WHICH YOU CAN DECIDE WHAT GOES UP AND WHAT GOES DOWN.

Like some of his characters, the creator of Huminia is a mysterious personality. He goes by the name Humbuged, although some of his brain children also know him by the name Hum-Dude. He is a 20 something guy and his passion is to illustrate men in erotic situations. And that means any kind of situation, varying from innocent pleasures to sexual world domination.

Huminia is a place, rich in colour and populated by gorgeous muscular men. There is also a secret. Huminia is not a world. It is a place that is a collection of alternate worlds. The main world of Humania is the world of the Humelves Keric Galathil, Cylhann Oronar aka Cyl, Xerude, Zeoh, Master Scientist and Isen & Isel Ishandre. But there is also another Huminia, inhabited by the Humfurs Arus, Zulf and Toraz. All these universes come together on the digital platform named The Humplex.

Humbuged created The Humplex 2 years ago and it has been growing steadily ever since. The artists adds new artworks and Flash animation on regular base and the blog also gives access to other Humplew related featured, such as Humplex Mobile, Humplex IM and Humoekaki, a forum-like platform with interesting discussions and many different adult illustration arts.

The Humplex is a creative site for anyone who likes to enjoy male adult art in an alternative way. Through sexy illustrations and artworks and funny interactive Flash games. –B-

Nouveau Vintage

GREAT WORK IS OFTEN THE RESULT OF COMBINING TALENT. MANY OF THE BEAUTIFUL ART PIECES THIS WORLD KNOWS ARE CREATED BY ARTIST WHO WERE INSPIRED BY, OR WORKING WITH OTHER PEOPLE. IT TAKES TALENTS TO KNOW TALENT, AS IS THE CASE WITH FRANK LOUIS AND HIS MODEL NORB.

In contrary to most of New York City, the streets in the West Village are not straight but angle to other streets in Manhattan, often causing confusion for both tourist and inhabitant. West Village is off the grid, and that might very well be the reason why this particular area is so popular for a more flamboyant crowd. Photographer Frank Louis lives and works in the West Village. Here he often can be found wondering the streets, or drinking a coffee in his favorite Café Angelique on the corner of Bleeker Street. It is in the Village where he meets the most interesting people and where he creates his finest work.

As many others Frank Louis too has his heroes. His idols in photography are Greg Gorman, Herb Ritts and Robert Mapplethorpe. Frank also find inspiration in beauty, fashion and pop music, and these ingredients are masterly woven in his latests series with model Norb and stylist Cameron Carpenter, named Nouveau Vintage. It isn’t the first time Frank and Norb created art together. Earlier we presented you Justify My Love, a composition of romantic poses and dreamy looks, placed against the dark background of irresistible lust and sexual freedom. The series was inspired by Madonna’s controversial pop song from the late nineties, and it seems evident that the famous singer’s creativity was present at the creation of this new series as well.

Norb is a natural. He seems totally at ease in front of Frank Louis’ camera and posing is like a second nature to the sexy New Yorker. Like a chameleon he changes his total look with every piece of clothing, handpicked by stylist Cameron Carpenter. Some of his looks are dark and sexy, other provocative and expressive, reminding of classic Madonna video’s. It is this combination of inspiration and accessories that brings the Nouveau Vintage theme to life. Creating something new from something old and bringing sexy back to today.

New York’s West Village is bound by the Hudson River and Seventh Avenue, and extends from 14th Street down to Houston Street. It is one of those few places on earth, like the Parisian Montmartre, that is a magnet for talent and creativity, where artists find inspiration and create their finest works, where nostalgia for old times seamless melt with the excitement of modern days. It is a place of Nouveau Vintage. –B-

Pedro Virgil's Gods of Football

AS A KID, FOOTBALL NEVER REALLY INTERESTED ME. I JUST DIDN’T UNDERSTAND THE PURPOSE OF A BUNCH OF GROWN UP MEN FIGHTING OVER A BALL. GROWING UP I SLOWLY STARTED TO BECOME MORE INTERESTED AND CURIOUS ABOUT THE GAME. OR, SHOULD I SAY, THE PLAYERS. BECAUSE I CAME TO UNDERSTAND THERE IS A LOT MORE TO ENJOY THAN JUST THE GAME ITSELF.

Australian photographer Pedro Virgil has been making waves with his work for years in magazines like DNA and Cosmopolitan. He has also photographed brands such as ROLEX, Diesel and recently for international hit TV show, Australia’s Next Top Model. It seems needless to say, it takes more than pressing a button to create photographs such as Pedro’s. He puts a lot of work into all his images, including a great creative insight and knowledge of the art, resulting in professional high-gloss works of art of the superlative.

Being very aware of the value of certain sport sex appeal among the gay audience -  let’s face it, don’t we all love the idea of sweat, masculinity and good looking men -  Australia has picked up a unique super team: Gods of Football. The team knows some the country’s elite players from the rugby league as well as Australian Rules football, but for once they are not asked to convince through athletic performance. All they have to do is look hot, and it seems they all have a natural talent for that.

Was his previous volume, Gods of Sports, rather dark and filthy looking, Gods of Football showcases Australian’s hottest and best in a golden ambiance of beach and urbanity. Dramatic skies, golden lights and well placed shadows. Pedro Virgil pulls out everything to create another masterpiece, displaying his athletes with an easiness of being that do any harm to their irresistible sex appeal. And even though the men never drop the last piece of cloth – or equipment – you keep expecting them to show just that little bit more, no matter how many times you flip the pages. An excellent piece of work that makes us realize – happily – we are not the only ones who discovered the versatility of football.

But what makes this work even more beautiful is the fact these divine beings pose for the good cause. Pedro shows the Australian Gods of Football as part of the Naked For A Cause initiative in support of the McGrath Foundation, and by doing so he places himself and all these athletic heart throbs in the same supportive camp as celebrities Nicole Kidman, Kylie Minogue, Olivia Newton John and many fellow Australian sports hero’s. –B-
